The client came to us with a bold vision: to reinvent the sport of boxing by creating a smart punching bag that would not only enhance training but also make the experience more engaging and enjoyable. To achieve this, we partnered with the Spanish National Boxing Champion to identify the essential elements of effective boxing training. Using these insights, we iterated through designs to develop a functional prototype that truly elevates the sport.

The final prototype is a cutting-edge smart punching bag featuring 16 independent sensors that automatically calibrate before each session. These sensors are equipped with LED lights that change color, providing real-time guidance on where to strike and how to position the feet. To further assist with foot placement, the bag includes an integrated panel that ensures proper stance and movement.

Each sensor is capable of detecting both the impact and the strength of every punch, providing invaluable feedback for users looking to refine their technique. The heart of the system is a Raspberry Pi, which controls a variety of movement combinations through a program designed in collaboration with a professional boxing coach. The result is a versatile training tool that caters to both boxing and kickboxing, making it suitable for athletes of all levels.
